Jin Qing Zhong, seventy-five, is another reminder of why we should Always Check the Socks.
We met Mrs. Zhong in the magical nook on Wentworth, a doorway right past the Chinatown gate where people gather to get away from the wind.
Her urban outfit was punctuated with purple accessories—penguin socks, hibiscus rolling backpack, a floral sweater from Hong Kong. The black cap, leather wallabies, and pants with a barely-there patterned sheen (and fleece lined, no less) gave the outfit a sleekness that balanced the tropical purple elements.
