IT IS YOUR TIME

“For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

ACTS 2:39

The Holy Spirit did not shut down in the Book of Acts chapter 28. The Day of Pentecost is already over 2,000 years long. We continue the Acts of the Apostles today It went on to the Acts of the Early Church and now the Acts of the End-Time Church. The book of Acts described the day of small things, simply laying the foundation for us today.

THE “DAYS OF PENTECOST” CONTINUE. SINCE PENTECOST the Spirit of God, like a mighty wind, has been moving in a new and powerful way across the globe into all the dark places of the earth. The Early Church and the apostles did their part, recorded in the book of Acts, but that was not all the Holy Spirit did, has done or is doing. Now, we in this generation must add our part to the Acts of the Holy Spirit.

The wind of the Spirit is on the move, and we must move with it. No matter where you are or how dark it is, you must believe that the wind of the Spirit of God is blowing right there, and if you speak the Word, there will be light, salvations, deliverances, healings and miracles. So be bold, and speak the Word wherever you are. You will see results, because the wind of the Spirit is blowing and has already gone ahead of you.

The early Christians are not our role models. Jesus is! The Book of Acts does not describe the climax of God’s power, but a first sampling of the potential of the Holy Spirit. Trust God to infinity; He has no maximum!

THE STORY OF THE COMING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE lives of the first apostles and the blossoming church are only a first sampling of the possibilities of Holy Spirit ministry. The field is open to us. Christ said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do . . . ” (John 14:12). Jesus is our example. Paul prayed “that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know . . . what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:18-20).

In this age, there are mass conversions in some of the toughest parts of the globe. Healings, miracles and signs abound in the Church. The truth of the Word of God is being experienced today, even as it was in the Early Church, and it is all by the power of the Holy Spirit.

SOMETHING POSITIVE IS HAPPENING TO PEOPLE TODAY. IT carries every Bible mark of what the Lord promised in Scripture: “’And it shall come to pass in the last days,’ says God, ‘that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy’” (Acts 2:17, 18). God is keeping His word, and Jesus is baptizing in the Holy Spirit. There is no argument against it. It is happening, and it will happen to you.

The river of God is forceful! When our lives relate to His purposes, we are carried along as He sweeps from the eternal past to the eternal future. Allow yourself to be “carried away” by the Holy Spirit.

BEFORE HE WAS APOSTLE PAUL, HE WAS SAUL. HE COLLECTED letters from the chief priests and religious leaders of his time to authorize him to persecute the Church. On the road to Damascus, the Lord appeared to Him. “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads” (Acts 26:14). Saul was going against the currents of destiny. When he surrendered to Jesus, he entered the currents of the Holy Spirit and became a mighty apostle God would use to impact billions of believers. If the life you are leading is not worthwhile, try something new—a life authored by the Holy Spirit.

No matter who you are or what your past is, you too can be used by God mightily. If you are fired up, He will use you. Just surrender to Him and let the Holy Spirit empower you for prayer, for study, for worship and for preaching to go to the nations, and you will see the signs and wonders that will follow (2 Timothy 2:20, 21).

WHY DOES GOD USE SOME PEOPLE AND NOT OTHERS? Imagine you have two stoves at home. One is hot and one is cold, and you want to make yourself a cup of coffee. Which one of the two would you use? THE HOT ONE, of course. Do you get the point? That is the reason why God can use some and not others. Many people pray, “Use me Lord,” but that is the wrong way round. Rather, pray, “Lord, make me useable.” His fire makes us useable. The useable He uses automatically! Hallelujah.
