Author Note
On Wednesday, January 24, 1810, three women desperately seeking work as governesses presented themselves at Mrs. Gray’s hiring agency in London. Marianne, on the run from her predatory stepbrother, was sent to the residence of the Earl of Kingswood (The Earl’s Runaway Governess). Mary, desperate to clear her imprisoned father’s name, made her way to Sir Nicholas Denny in Norfolk (A Waltz with the Outspoken Governess). This book tells the story of Lydia, who travels far, far away to the Outer Hebrides, to a lonely laird and a sickly child. Each book can be read as a stand-alone tale.
This book is the first in a new series set between London and the Hebrides. In book two, Angus and his sister, Eilidh, will travel to London with the aim of persuading an English lord to sell land back to the Hebridean people. Little do they know that, while there, they will each meet their match.
I have really enjoyed researching the Hebrides for this series. I do hope you enjoy reading it!
