Yes Lord, Use Me!

image

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, ~ Ephesians 3:20

Not long ago, a woman reached out to me on Twitter and asked for prayer. Then she followed her request by asking me if I thought God could use her regardless of her past. I found her question very interesting and I pondered, “How many other Christians wonder if God can use them?”

Have you ever asked yourself, “Can God really use my life?”

If you are anything like me, when you fell in love with Jesus Christ, you had a profound desire for Him to use you for His glory. Often, our feeling of inadequacy challenges our deep desire to be used, and every now and then, the guilt over past actions fuels our lack of self-assurance. However, I want you to know that God will use you if you are willing to be used, regardless of whether or not you think you are qualified.

In the Bible, we see God using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary achievements for His glory. People like David, an ordinary shepherd and musician who had an extraordinary calling to slay an extraordinary giant. Or Gideon, an ordinary military leader who had an extraordinary calling to lead a decisive victory over an extraordinary Midianite army despite a massive numerical disadvantage. Think about Mary, an ordinary virgin who had an extraordinary calling to have an extraordinary birth of the Son of God.

Remember the story of Balaam (Numbers 22:28)? Do you remember how God spoke through a donkey? If God can use a donkey, He definitely can use you because YOU ARE NOT ORDINARY!

When God becomes Lord over someone’s life, they go from ordinary to extraordinary. In addition to that, you have an extraordinary calling on your life.

God is looking to birth and fulfill people’s hopes and dreams. He is looking for individuals who are totally committed to Him and are willing to be used by Him for His purpose.

Here is my question for you: Do you believe that God can do extraordinary things, impossible things, through your life?

The Apostle Paul did. He prayed: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

So, what has God called you to do? Let me tell you. It is something magnificent, amazing, and extraordinary! All you have to do is say, “Yes Lord, use me!” You do not have to have it all together. Not everything has to make sense.

Do not get trapped by the paralysis of analysis!

If you wait for everything to align perfectly, you will never be the person God created you to be. God is not looking for your ability as much as he wants your availability. God wants your faithfulness and willingness to say, “Yes Lord, use me!”

Cream and Sugar...

Say this Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today, I do thank You for making Yourself real to me. Help me not to limit my service to You because of a sense of inadequacy.  Remind me that I can do whatever you call me to do; for you have promised to be with me. Give me the strength to use my life in service to you. I pray this, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
