Track 11
“Gimme Shelter”
MEMORANDUM FOR THE DIRECTOR OF
THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY
Classification: Top Secret
Subject: Parallax Building Expansion
April 16, 1950
Building works to extend the current Colorado facility will commence May 1, 1950. The expected completion date is June 15, 1951. Contractors have undergone the orientation and confidentiality training.
The five-story subterranean complex will contain power and cooling plants, two surgical theaters, an upgraded pathology unit, and ten additional clinical rooms with adjacent observation rooms. We are liaising with Headquarters on audio and visual surveillance equipment procurement; these will be integrated into the Control Room. Protective custody accommodations will house up to fifty Subjects. Location scouting for a radio telescope array is underway.
Thirteen of the original fifteen Subjects have been deemed suitable to continue with experiments indefinitely. Subjects No. 006 and No. 009 are halfway through a six-month debriefing program. Given their current psychological states, we recommend they be transferred to Project XU-891B.
For the Parallax Human Intervention Unit,
Dr. Harold P. Elsworth
