Simon Van Booy is the author of ten highly acclaimed books including The Illusion of Separateness, a national bestseller, and Love Begins in Winter, which won the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. He is also the editor of three philosophy books and has written for the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Guardian, the Times, Poets & Writers, NPR, and the BBC. His books have been translated into many languages.
Raised in rural Wales and the countryside around Oxford, Van Booy was a promising rugby player who moved to Kentucky at eighteen, after being offered a scholarship to play American football at Campbellsville University. He lived in Kentucky for several years and has maintained strong links with people in the state for almost three decades.
