One common example of an everyday use of machine learning is content recommendation engines. These engines are actually algorithms that identify and then provide content for individuals based on the way those individuals behave online. In other words, as one perhaps shops online, content recommendation engines will serve up advertisements and other information (in real time) that is associated with the shopper's views and/or purchases or personalized in some way.
Note: This is the way Facebook's News Feeds are set or personalized for each member's individual feed.
