CHAPTER 16

 

 

I woke up feeling completely satisfied, satiated and deliciously sore. The sun filtered through the window next to the bed and warmed my body as the sheets that were barely covering me were slowly being pulled off. Soft lips replaced them as I was peppered with warm kisses all over my back. I moaned as Jonah ran his hands all over my body kneading all of the sore spots caused by our all night love making. And there were plenty of places needing some tender loving care. I was getting very wet from his touches and turned my head towards him as his kisses were now directed to my face.

“You keep this up and we are never gonna leave this room” I said in a groggy voice.

“That's fine with me” He replied with a small chuckle. “I've already passed on the message that we are not to be disturbed.”

“Good to know” I said pushing him on his back and climbed on top of him.

 

After another round of mind numbing sex I was again satiated and exhausted. I laid curled up in Jonah's arms running my hand up and down his muscular chest basking in the afterglow of what I believe was the beginnings of love.

“What's your favorite color? I asked looking up at him with a smile on my sweaty face.

“Why?” He asked chuckling. “You got something up your sleeves?” He asked while bringing my hand up to his mouth and kissing each finger.

“No I just thought I ask you a few questions to get to know you better. We can play twenty questions.” I replied.

“Twenty questions?”

“Yeah, you know. I ask you a question and then you ask me a question. That way we get to find out some things about each other.” I replied rubbing his scruffy chin.

“No need. I already know all there is to know about you.” He said with a smirk.

“Really” I asked sitting up facing him. We were both completely naked and already comfortable with it. “What exactly do you know about me?” I asked with a raised eyebrow and my arms folded under my chest.

“Well” he started off sitting up as well. “To start off you're a great fighter. Calculating, fast and very rhythmic. You hardly wear makeup, which by the way you don't need because you're naturally beautiful.” He said this and followed it with a peck on my lips causing me to smile and blush a little. “Your favorite color is green, but not just any green. You like forest green as well as olive green like your eyes. You look great in skirts but fantastic in tight jeans that showcases your ass. And what a fine ass it is” he said making me giggle. “Lastly you love your friends and family and would do anything for them. You're very protective of the ones you love. A great quality for a Luna” He concluded.

“Well, I'm impressed” I said truly pleased that he paid so much attention to me.

“Thank you. So do you know anything about me” He asked sarcastically.

“Yes I do actually” I replied just as sarcastically.

“OK, let's hear it” He said laying back down tucking his arms behind his head.

“Alright... well....You are also a great fighter but that's a given as an Alpha. You love meat, mostly chicken but surprisingly not eggs. Which are from chickens by the way.” He chuckled. “You're an ass and leg man which is one of the reasons I wore so many skirts by the way. Your favorite colors are blue and white...”

“If you knew that, why did you ask me?” He asked.

“I just wanted to verify” I said with a knowing smile. “Anyway, I think that is changing or you were trying to impress me because your wardrobe shifted from white dress shirts with black tie to olive ties and olive green tee shirts. You're passionate about your role as an Alpha and want the best for your pack. You listen to them and want the best for them. You're loyal. And... you also have a great ass.” I concluded with a small chuckle.

“Thank you! “He said with a big grin. “It means a lot to know that you wasn't completely ignoring my existence.

“I couldn't ignore you if I tried. And believe me I tried.” I said with a laugh. Jonah laughed with me and sat back up to capture my mouth with his. Just when it started to get hot and heavy we were rudely interrupted by my growling stomach. That caused us to laugh again.

“Alright let's get washed up and put some food in your stomach. I wouldn't want you to disappear on me.” Jonah said pulling me up and walked me towards his bathroom. He turned on the shower and set the temperature to warm. As the water warmed up we walked in the shower stall and my back instantly hit the cool tiles. Jonah started to kiss me along the sides of my face and down my jaw line until he reached my mark. He was rewarded with a moan when his tongue flicked out and licked it. “I just can't get enough of you” He said before sucking on my mark. It instantly made me weak in the knees. Noticing, Jonah grabbed my ass, scooped me up and wrapped my legs around his waist.

“I can't take it anymore” He growled out as he quickly slid inside my wet folds. We moaned in unison as he filled me completely. He began to give slow and deep thrust that caused my breath to come out in short gasp. The water hit his back and steamed up the bathroom. This man was killing me softly and I was loving every single second of it. If I died right now I would die a very happy woman.

“Don't worry baby. You're not dying on my watch” Jonah said with a chuckle.

“Get out of my head” I said with a moan making him chuckle again.

We climaxed together and slid down the shower stall to the floor while the water pummeled us from above.

“We should bathe before the water turns cold” I said standing back up on wobbly legs.

“I agree” he said stepping out of the shower. “But I think I should use another shower. If I stay in here I might end up taking you again.” He said giving me a heated look. I laughed and shooed him out of the bathroom. I wouldn't last another round. My stomach needed some attention before that went down.

After my much needed shower I hopped out and ran back to my room with the towel wrapped tightly around my body. I was lucky enough to not have been spotted by anyone roaming the halls. I would hate to have them see me in just a towel leaving Jonah's room. Once dressed in a pale pink sundress and sandals I heard a soft knock at my door as I was brushing my hair. I opened it to reveal Jonah looking edible in his light gray tee shirt that nicely showed off his muscular arms and denim jeans.

“You look beautiful” He said holding out his hand to me.

“Thank you!” I said as I connected my hand with his and allowed him to pull me out of my room and closed the door. “And you look edible.” He laughed as we walked down the stairs.

 

Once outside we walked to the dining hall across the pack grounds. There were many pack members out going about their daily business and when they laid eyes on us with our adjoined hands many stopped what they were doing and gave wide smiles. Others bowed their heads in respect before going back to their business. We walked inside the dining hall and all activity stopped. It was a little unnerving to have everyone just staring at us with shock written on all of their faces. The silence that engulfed the room was deafening. Then what felt like hours later everyone in the room erupted in to loud claps, hoots and howls as we stood at the door. I instantly blushed as Jonah had a huge grin on his face and chuckled softly.

“Alright, alright settle down everyone” Jonah said pulling me past all of the pack members as they pat us on our backs. We made our way over to the head table in the back where Jonah's second and Third in Command and their family were sitting. Their mates stood up and hugged me as the men shook Jonah's hand. Johnson also gave me a big hug telling me how happy he was to have me as his Luna. Then there was Donovan. He walked up to me and crossed his arms as he stared at me with a big smirk on his face.

“What!” I said mirroring his stance.

“So I see that you finally have come to your senses” He said smiling big. “About time.”

“So I see that you just can't help being a asshole” I said folding me arms across my chest.

“Only when I need to be. If you ever need to talk, my door is always open.” He said seriously.

“What would I need to talk to you about?” I asked a little confused by his offer.

“This must be very overwhelming for you. Just a couple of days ago you were running from your mate and now you not only accepted him but will also soon become the Luna of this pack. It's a big responsibility to take on. Don't you think?” He said with a raised eyebrow.

“That's true, but I'm up to the challenge. Thank you for your concern” I said sincerely.

“Look at you speaking so kindly to me. You might just make a decent Luna after all.” He said with a small chuckle.

“And there goes the asshole I'm so used to. I was worried there for a second” I said rolling my eyes at him. He laughed again and went back to join his wife after patting me on the back.

My father, who was also sitting at the table walked over and pulled me into a hug. His scent hit me and filled me with warmth remembering the good old days. “I'm happy for you sweetheart” He said in my ear causing moisture to come to my eyes.

“Thanks dad” I said hugging him back. We pulled apart and he turned to face Jonah. His smile dropped and so did Jonah's.

“I hope you realize how special and important my daughter is to me.” He said sternly.

“Yes sir, I do” Jonah replied just as sternly.

“Good to hear. I also hope you understand; Alpha or no Alpha. If you lay a hand on her again you will have to deal with me” He said.

“Dad!” I started grabbing his arm. “It's ok”

“No, it's not. And I completely understand. I will never lay a hand on her like that again. I deeply regret it.” Jonah replied with guilt in his eyes. My dad looked at him for a few seconds before raising his hand for Jonah to shake. They shook hands and smiled at each other. My father kissed my cheek before going back to his seat to eat. I was finally able to release the breath I was holding during the exchange.

Jonah and I sat down to the lunch that was waiting for us. Since we were extra busy this morning we didn't get out of the room until lunch time. No wonder my stomach was growling so much. So I devoured my lunch that consisted of a chicken salad sandwich and fruit. I'm not ashamed to say that I had three sandwiches and two big bowls of fruit. What can I say, I'm a wolf and a super hungry wolf at that.

As we ate and enjoyed our food and each other’s company there was a loud bang as the doors leading into the dining hall were thrown open and banged against the walls on either side. Every wolf immediately stopped talking and turned to face the intrusion. Many of the warriors that were in the room, including Jonah, quickly stood ready for whatever attack was coming our way. Unfortunately this was one attack they could never be ready for.

“ALEX! ALEX, where are you!” Screamed Celeste as she stood at the now broken doors. I stood hearing her voice and took in her appearance. She looked as if she ran all the way from her pack house to the dining hall. Her hair was disheveled. Her eyes were big and wild as she searched for me with tears raining down her flushed face. She had on jogging pants that were barely hanging on, no shoes and a shirt that was clearly two sizes too big. I only assumed it belonged to Alpha Phil. I slowly walked from behind Jonah who has been shielding me ever since the door hit the walls. All eyes turned to me with alarm.

“Celeste? Is everything ok?” I asked calmly as I quickly walked over to her. Even though she looked frantic, I tend to not panic when it comes to her until I get the full story. I think I mentioned before that Celeste can be a little overly dramatic at times. Spotting me her face sagged with relief and she rushed over meeting me in the middle of the hall pulling me into a bone crushing hug. I patted her on the back until she was calm enough to let me go.

“I was so worried about you.” She finally said.

“Why? I'm fine” I said confused.

“I just had this bad feeling all night that I couldn't shake. And then I tried to mind-link with you but you didn't respond. But....but then I felt it.”

“Felt what?' I asked.

“The link. I lost the link to you” She said grabbing my hands crushing them between hers. “You mated with him, didn't you? That's why I lost the link?” She asked looking past me with narrowed eyes, sneering. I turned when I felt Jonah walk up behind me. He was trying to hide the smirk he was sporting but failed. Terribly. I rolled my eyes at him receiving a chuckle and turned back to my insane friend.

“Yes Celeste. Jonah and I are now mated to each other.” I responded trying to also hide my smile.

“But why? Don't you know what that means?” She asked with wide eyes. When I didn't respond she pulled on my hands and screamed at me.” It MEANS that you have to join his pack. It MEANS that you are leaving our pack. It means that YOU ARE LEAVING ME!” she screamed waving her arms around animatedly.

“Well Celeste, you knew this was going to happen when you were pushing me to accept him” I responded yanking my hands from her and placing them on my hips.

“I don't know what I was thinking. It must have been a momentary lack of sanity” She said in an aspirated tone running her tiny hands through her wild hair.

“Calm down, Celeste” My dad said from the other side of me.

“Oh, dad! I'm losing her” She said running into his arms. He smiled at me as he patted her back. That was when another loud intrusion came roaring through the dining hall.

“CELESTE! CELESTE!”

It was Alpha Phil and he was mad. Enraged would be a better word for it. He stood at the doorway of the dining hall just as Celeste did minutes ago looking just as wild and worried as she did. His hair was disheveled and was sporting pajama pants and flip flops that were clearly Celeste since they were bright pink. I tried to cover my laugh with my hand as I heard a small “uh oh” from behind me. Celeste had retreated behind dad for protection as Alpha Phil locked eyes with her. He stomped over with long strides until he reached us. His eyes were ablaze with anger as he looked down at her as she coward behind my father. That was the time many pack members in the dining hall decided to disappear. They quickly filed out of the hall while avoiding eye contact with the enraged Alpha.

“What the hell Celeste? You said you were going to the bathroom and never returned. I go to check on you only to find the bathroom window open and you running across the pack grounds in wolf form.” He said angrily. That made me chuckle.

“I'm sorry Philly, but I was worried about Alex. I told you I couldn't get in touch with her. I had to make sure she was okay.” She said still half hidden by my dad.

“I told you that she would be fine. Alpha Jonah would not let anything happen to her” He said with a huff as he ran his hands through his hair.

“Yeah right” Celeste said with a roll of her eyes. “The last time he took care of her, she ended up in the infirmary”

“That will never happen again” Jonah said in a gruff voice. I turned to him patting him on the chest and giving him a small smile for reassurance.

“See Celeste! She's fine so now we must leave and....

“No Phil! She's leaving me. They mated” Celeste said tugging on Alpha Phil's arm.

“You mated?” He asked Jonah, who in return gave a bright smile. “Congratulations brother” Alpha Phil said while shaking Jonah's hand.

“No! No! Congratulations!” Celeste exclaimed knocking their hands apart. “Don't you understand what this means Phil? She's leaving us.....me!” She finished, crying all over again. Alpha Phil rolled his eyes and threw his hands up in clear frustration. He had no idea what to do with my pint size friend.

“Alright Celeste, get it together. I'm not too far away and we will still see each other often.” I said finally tired of her theatrics.

“You're right. I'm sorry I've just been so hormonal lately.” she said wiggling her eyebrows at me. I looked at her for a minute wondering what the hell she was hinting at. She stepped closer to me and that's when I took a big whiff and my eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.

“OMG! You're pregnant” I asked grabbing her hands. The roles has now just switched. She gave me a sly smile and nodded. “OMG Celeste!” I said pulling her into a big hug. “I'm going to be an aunt.” Now I was the one crying hysterically.

“You're gonna be an aunt” She repeated back to me. The men went back to shaking hands and smiling broadly as Celeste and I hugged and cried in each other arms.

“Well we got two great news today” said Jonah from somewhere behind me. For a second I forgot everyone was standing there as I held on to my pregnant best friend. We finally let go to catch the tail end on the conversation that was happening around us. “I hope you both can stay for the ceremony” was what I heard Jonah say as Celeste and I pulled apart.

“What ceremony?” I asked looking up at him.

“The induction for you to join the pack and become the new Luna.” He said smiling down at me.

“So soon?” I asked feeling nervously. Celeste noticed and linked her hand in mine giving me a reassuring squeeze.

“Well, no times better than the present. Besides the sooner we introduce you as the new Luna of the pack the sooner we can get back to bed.” He said that last part quietly as he stepped a little closer to me. I chuckled but totally agreed with him.

“OK, I think I would like that” I said smiling up at him suggestively.

“Fine!” Celeste replied throwing my hand from hers.

“Celeste, you know good and well that I would never leave you. Especially now that you are about to have a pup. So you are stuck with me rather you like it or not so cut it out.” I said to her with my hands planted on my hips.

“Good” She said with a pout on her petite face. “I guess we should go and find you something to wear for this evening’s ceremony.” She said while grabbing my hand pulling me out of the dining hall. I looked back and blew Jonah a kiss that made him smile and turned back around before noticing Alpha Phil shaking his head.

“Umm, Celeste! I think your forgetting something” I said tapping her on the shoulder.

“Yeah, Yeah! Bye Philly baby” She called over her shoulder.

“Bye love” He called back.
