Chapter Two

Preparation

Don't get too close! It’s Dark inside! It's were my demons hide!

My body went cold; colder than it already was. As they continued biding on the remaining girls as if this was a normal occurrence. I was left feeling numb and trying my hardest to wrap my head around what I was witnessing. The two way mirror went black again and I was starring wide eyed at my reflection. Did she just say that I was sold? As in I was up for sale! That can't be right. I am a person! A human-being with rights and laws on my side that should protected me from such things as this.

There was no way that they could just sale me as if I was some sort of object and not the living breathing person that I was. But as I looked at myself hyperventilating in the mirror I realized that that was just what has happened. It was true. I was sold in some kind of human trafficking ring. I have just become someone's property for them to do with as they like. I was truly becoming terrified now.

Some commotion caught my attention to the right of the room distracting me from my panicking thoughts. The double doors that I have just now noticed burst open and a army of men came marching in single file. They were wearing dark gray cargo pants with black fitted tee shirts that stretched across their unnaturally large muscles. They had on black combat boots that caused loud echoing as they stomped in the room. Even though their size and muscled frames was enough to scare any girl that was being held against their will.

The true scare was the fact that they each wore a black mask over their faces and the only thing that was visible was their cold eyes that seemed to glow in the now dim room. They stomped in one by one and abruptly stopped in front of a girl. The one in front of me had steel gray eyes that showed no sign of emotion as he stared through me.

In a freaky unison fashion they each reached up and freed our arms. Because my body has gone well pass numb, I collapsed on to the cold hard ground. My army man reached down and with one hand pulled me back on to my feet as if I weighed next to nothing. “Get moving!” He said in a gruff voice before pushing me in the direction that everyone else was going. It felt like my legs weighed a ton as I started to walk behind the other girls. They lead us through a door on the other end of the room and into a dark hall way. My army man marched beside me down the hall.

One by one the doors opened on each side of the hall and each girl was pushed inside with the door closing tightly behind her. A door immediately to my right opened and my army man pushed me through it. Even though I knew what was happening I was still taken by surprise from the sudden push. I landed hard on my hands and knees and cried out in pain from the impact on my right knee. “Get cleaned up and put on those clothes” My army man said from behind me before slamming the door shut. I slowly stood up and surveyed the room. Except for the chair sitting in the middle of the room it was bare. There was indeed a door on the right wall that I assumed was a bathroom for me to clean up in. I hobbled over to it and pulled the door open. The bathroom was small and white, but clean. I walked in and over to the mirror that was above the sink. I stared at my reflection and had to take in a sharp breath. I didn't look like myself. Gone was the spunky free-loving girl that always had a smart remark. She was replaced with a pale wide eyed girl that was clearly scared to death. My brown skin was ashen. My once vibrate light brown eyes was replaced with dull eyes encased in un-shed tears that threaten to escape over my lids at any minute. My bouncy dark brown hair was now limp and plastered to my head. Looking away from the mirror, I couldn't stomach the sight any more. I don't understand how I could have changed in such a short time. But then again I was not sure how long I was out. It could have been hours or days even.

I went over to the shower, turned it on and climbed in. The water was warm and it thawed some of the cold I've been feeling since I woke but it didn't get rid of the hopeless feeling I was experiencing. Letting all of these feeling I have been holding at bay finally out I slid down the shower wall and let the tears that have been fighting to come out get their wish. I sobbed like a new born baby for I don't know how long. The water had turned cold by the time I pulled it together enough to climb out. I dried off with the towel that was sitting on the sink and went to put on the clothes that were folded neatly on the only piece of furniture in the room.

The clothes consist of black skinny jeans, a white thermal shirt, black ballet slippers and a black jacket. Once I was dressed I sat in the chair and contemplated what to do next. I had to figure out a way to escape. Looking at the door that I entered I wondered if my army man was waiting for me behind it or if he left me alone. There was only one way to find out. I stood and walked over to the door and put my ear against it. Listening I did not hear any sounds on the other side. I straighten back up and reached out my hand to the door handle.

Just when I was about to turn it the door opened causing me to jump back in shock. My army man stood at the door looking down at me. He towered over me by at least a solid foot. He was massive compared to my five foot seven frame. I had the urge to take another step back until I realized that he was trying to intimidate me. So instead I stood up straight and looked back at him with as must courage as I could muster at the given time, which by the way wasn't much. He held a little laughter in his eyes that I was not expecting and then he stepped back from me.

“Follow me” He said and then turned and left through the door. I walked to the hallway and watched his retreating back for a moment. I looked down the other end of the hall wondering if I could make a break for it before he noticed. The hall was dark and it looked endless. I wanted to run but was too scared of the unknown, plus I feared what could happen if I was caught. So I turned and quickly ran after my army man instead. He lead me quickly down the hall and I had to stay at a steady jog in order to keep up.

“Hey” I said a little out of breath. “Can we slow down a little? My legs are not as long as yours”. I didn't think he would respond but he did slow his pace in which I was very grateful for. “Thank you” I said in a breath of relief.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked now walking next to him. I had to look up to talk to him.

“To meet your master” He said plainly. My Master! I stopped dead in my tracks. My army man did not do the same. He continued until the end of the hall and turned to look at me. I was stunned. I have a master now? I was a slave now? I looked back towards the other end of the hall wishing I followed my original thought and ran in that direction. It was too late now. I know he would catch me. I looked back at my army man.

“Come on!” He said and opened the door. I walked through it and outside. The cold air hit me and I was instantly glad they provided a jacket. We were in the back of the building in a ally. A black SUV sat in front of us. My army man walked around me and opened the back door to the SUV. “Get In” He said. I just looked at him. His steel gray eyes held a emotion as he looked back at me. Pity! I climbed into the SUV. “Goodbye” He said before he swiftly shut the door softly.
