Chapter 11

Six Months Later…

As the sun peered through the window into their penthouse suite, Trina uncovered her head. The giant white comforter hid the outfit she wore the night before.

“Babe,” she said trying to wake up Los, “Baby, wake up.”

He began to move around from the sound of her voice, but the sunlight in his eyes refused to let him sleep. Finally accepting that it was wakeup time, he turned over giving her a small kiss on the lips.

“Good morning, Mr. Marshall,” she said smiling from ear-to-ear.

“Good morning, Mrs. Marshall.”

She looked down at the diamond ring that sat on her left ring finger. “I still can’t believe we did this.”

“I mean we are in Vegas. What else would we be doing but getting married?”

It had been six months since they finally made it official. She was ready to really come clean to Franco and Omari about their past, but of course Los couldn’t let her do that, so he embraced his new role as her security. What started out as a here and there thing soon became their everyday. It gave them the chance to spend all of their time together without anyone suspecting a thing. When they were out in public, they barely even spoke being that he was the help and all, but in private, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Their passion was real, and Trina never wanted to let it go, so when they went to Vegas on business and Los asked her to marry him, of course she said yes.

“What you wanna do today, wifey?” he asked yawning as he still laid in his tuxedo from the night before.

“I saw last night that they have a spa here.”

“Of course they do. The Bellagio has everything, baby.”

“Let’s do that then, and maybe we can go to dinner or something later. I mean we don’t leave until tomorrow.”

“Whatever you wanna do, babe,” he said finally getting up. He opened up the thick curtains all the way letting in Vegas’ day life. “But I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something.”

“What is it?” she asked trying to smooth out her all-white ballerina dress.

“I feel like through all this fake shit we started with me being security for you turned into something real. Franco fucks with me tough, and I know that if I’m positioned right, we could really get this money.”

“So what are you saying?”

“I’m saying that I want to move up.”

“Move up?”

“To something. You got me out here looking like a sucka. You’re my wife now, Trina,” he said snatching her hand, “What’s yours is mine, remember?”

“You know I can’t do that, Los. You were never even supposed to be a part of this. This shit is dangerous. I just don’t want you to get hurt…”

“Miss me with the bullshit, T. I don’t need you protecting me. I’m not new to this. I’ve always been around even when you didn’t notice. I’ve earned this, Trina.”

“Los, what are you talking about?”

“I killed Jonah.”
