Chapter 10

While Sasha was meeting with Cynthia and Sally, Luke made an appointment to meet with OT Accounting, which was owned by his brother Timothy and sister Opal, to review his financial plans after retirement. When he walked into the office, Opal and Timothy met him in the lobby with a bow.

“To the only man we know who can retire from two jobs at the age of thirty,” Timothy joked.

“Oh, let’s not forget he is the same man who demanded all Lassiters spend forty-eight hours in an underground bunker while he saved us all from a madwoman none of us even knew.” Opal laughed. “What a hero.”

“Ha, ha,” Luke chuckled. “Are you two clowns finished?”

“For now,” Timothy patted him on the back. “Come on into the office.”

“Brooks-Pendleton sent over your financial records,” Opal stated, then shrugged. “I have no idea why you would not leave things where they are.”

Timothy sat back. “The investment package alone is enough for you to live off of for the rest of your life.” He said as they all took a seat in his office.

“Soon I will have a wife and a family. I need to make sure our future is secure.” Luke sat across from his siblings. “I also want to put something in play for Matt.”

“I noticed one of the investment accounts had Matt’s name on it. What is that about?” Opal asked as she sat forward.

Luke nodded. “When I was drafted into the NFL, I had Nick take half of the funds from each of my contracts to set up an account for Matt. Our family members have all been blessed with blossoming careers, with income that will sustain them and their families. Of all of us, Matt took on a profession for which he will never be compensated at the rate he deserves.”

“Matt is not going to take any charity, Luke. None of us would.” Timothy stated as he sat up. “While OT is doing very well, you know Denise’s finances are ten times what I make here.”

“Actually, it’s more,” Opal corrected.

“Thanks, Sis, for reminding me,” Timothy retorted dryly. “My point is, a man’s pride is delicate. As much as I love my wife and she loves me, I get a little prickly when it comes to money. I am my own man and want it to remain that way. Matt is the same.”

“You know that better than we do,” Opal continued. “So tell us. What did you have in mind?”

Luke sat forward and smiled. “You know we all invested in Leah’s Charter Service. I suggest we invest in Matt in the same way.”

“Go on,” Opal nodded.

“We know Matt has a hell of a rapport with the kids at that school. We need to find a way for him to expand that to more than just the kids at the high school. I think a year-round training camp run by Matt and myself could benefit a boatload of underprivileged kids.”

Timothy sat up. “I think it could expand from just sports. Matt has a few of his students who are interning with LT’s technology company. What if we find a way to combine the two?”

“Why stop there?” Opal asked. “What if we set up a private school?”

“LT is going to have a fit if we take students from the public school system,” Luke stated, “and Matt will have a problem with it, too. He will feel as if he was leaving students behind. I think the training camp idea will open doors for hundreds of kids.”

“Do you think he could pull those numbers for a camp?” Opal asked.

“With the name of Luke Lassiter attached, it will be filled before the camp location is found,” Timothy declared. “Have you talked to Matt about this yet?”

“No,” Luke answered. “I need numbers and a business plan before I sit down to talk to him.”

“He is not going to take money from you, Luke,” Opal noted.

“He will if it’s for the kids,” Luke stated emphatically. “Look, I owe Matt. He doesn’t see it that way, but I do. He kept me focused on my game. Matt was the one being recruited, but he pushed me to outperform him every time the scouts showed up, on every game tape, in every interview. Matt is the reason I’ve had the last ten years in the league. He has sacrificed more than anyone else in the family for the greater good. Yet he is the one who is not set for life. We all have plans for Joe and Sally as soon as Phire is married. There is no way we are not going to ensure Matt is set as well.”

“If he finds out we had this conversation, he is going to be pissed.” Timothy said. “I know I would be.”

“Your intentions are good, Luke,” Opal exhaled. “But Timothy may be right. Matt is his own man. He is going to see this as you trying to lift him up to where you think he should be.”

“Then you two have a problem. To my way of thinking, Matt deserves half of the income I made with the NFL. You have to find a way to get it to him without offending him. I think the camp with him as the chief operating officer, with a salary commensurate with the position, is the best. It gives him the opportunity to help more children. Can either of you seriously think Matt being able to reach more children is a bad thing?”

Opal and Timothy glanced at each other. “We can provide the numbers,” Timothy reassured.

“But you should reach out to Next Level Consulting to put together your business plan.”

Luke smiled as he stood. “Thank you guys. I know it puts you in a tough spot, but I would like for this to be established by his wedding date.”

“No problem, we can get you the numbers in a couple of weeks,” Opal proposed.

“Umm, no.” Luke smiled. “I want the camp ready to go, with kids registered and trainers ready for Matt to begin instruction right away. He will never turn it down if the kids are already registered. It’s my wedding gift to him.”

Luke left the office, then returned to the condo to find Sasha waiting for him in the great room. The great room overlooked the grounds of Davenport Estates. A fire in the fireplace added a nice atmosphere in the room. Light snow could be seen falling outside the window. And he could see Sasha was in her natural state, sitting on the sofa in deep thought. He stripped down to his natural state.

“Hey.” He walked up behind her and kissed her neck. “Everything go okay?”

Sasha exhaled deeply. “With Cynthia, yeah. She is going to work her magic for sure.”

He sat next to her on the sofa. “What has you worried?”

“My mother.”

“Hmm. I thought your meeting with her in Atlanta went fine.”

“It did,” Sasha sighed. “I don’t trust that she will just sit idly by and watch me walk into a blissful marriage. She is going to cause trouble for us, maybe even Al. How do I have both of them there without my mother disrupting the ceremony or something worse?”

Luke took the glass of wine she was holding from her hand and placed it on the table. He pulled her into his arms, stretched out beneath her, then kissed her forehead. “What concerns you the most?”

“I don’t know,” Sasha said worriedly, “What she will say out of her mouth about Al. How he will react to it. Maybe a repeat of what happened at Thanksgiving.”

Luke chuckled. “That was pretty entertaining.”

Sasha nudged him. “Ryan knocked her out.”

“Yeah.” Luke laughed. “Okay, I’m sorry that happened to you. Not her. She got what she deserved.” He added, “Why don’t we drive home tomorrow? You can visit your father and discuss your concerns with him. Believe me, Al knows how to handle your mother.”

“How do you know?”

“Because he loves you, like I do, and I have a plan in place for her if she acts up. I’m sure he does, too.”

“Do you?”

“Damn right,” Luke chuckled as he adjusted her over him. “She’s not going to ruin our day. I’ll have her gagged and put in the bottom of the ship.”

“Luke!” Sasha gasped.

“Hey, this is going to be our day,” he inhaled her hair, enjoying the intoxicating scent assailing his senses, while his thumb roamed over her nipple. “Between your father and me, we are going to make it perfect for you. If your mother being there is going to put a smile on your face, stop worrying about us and invite her. Is your father going to give you away?”

“I haven’t asked him yet.” She placed his manhood between her wet inner lips.

“Well, tomorrow will be the perfect time.” Luke growled as he covered her hand with his. They both massaged him, together, easing his tip inside of her.

She moaned, placed her legs outside his, then sat up on her knees, taking more of him inside. His hands moved to the globes of her beautiful behind as she straddled him cow girl style. Seeing her moving up and down on him sent shivers through his veins. He moved his hips upward, matching her downstroke. He leaned forward, kissing the right cheek, sucking and licking. Then he saluted the other globe of her behind in the same manner. Her behind was trembling in his hands, signifying the increased tension building. He squeezed her globes tight, as he moved in and out of her. The moans radiating from her caused him to increase his speed and the power with each stroke, until she was panting faster. Every stroke was hitting that spot, causing a catch of a scream in the throat. Her juices flowing over him pushed him to his limit, pumping every powerful thrust, building and building to the screamed release that filled the room. Luke continued, giving her everything she needed to ease her fears. As he exploded, his head fell back onto the sofa. Sasha’s body collapsed on top of his. Her head was resting on his feet, and he placed her feet on his shoulder.

“Now, we can both relax our minds and dream of our future.” Luke smiled when he heard her sigh. To him, tangled on the sofa with her, all was well in the world.
