Kathy “K.D.” Gearhart grew up on a ranch south of Sundance, Wyoming with the above geological formations as her playground. Now retired and living just across the Wyoming border in Spearfish, South Dakota, she draws inspiration for her suspense novels from driving the back roads of the Wyoming and South Dakota Black Hills. Her debut novella, Pewter Creek Mountain, was released in August 2019.
