We all need a little luxury in our lives, so when selecting yarns for our crochet projects, it pays to choose the best we can, especially when we invest so much of our time on our creations. For this pretty, colourful lap blanket I’ve chosen a high-quality, super soft, pure alpaca yarn that is surprisingly budget friendly. It is a joy to crochet with and will make the Daisy Dot Lap Blanket an heirloom piece that you will treasure for years to come.
Daisy motifs with dot motif at centre
Any standard 4ply (fingering) or lightweight DK (sport) yarn can easily be substituted for the stated yarn; however, checking your tension carefully beforehand is strongly recommended.
7 rnds of circular motif worked in tr sts (12st inc each rnd) = 10cm (4in)
Each daisy motif should measure approx. 8.5cm (31⁄4in) diameter
Approx. 128cm (501⁄4in) long by 94cm (37in) wide
If you add the dot motifs as you go, you will find that the work is much easier to handle than if you were to add them at the end once all the daisy motifs have been joined together. So add the first row of dot motifs as soon as the first two rows of daisy motifs have been joined together, then alternate between adding a row of daisy motifs with a row of dot motifs.

Using the colour placement diagram as a guide, arrange the motifs in the correct colour order and work the final round to join the motifs as follows:
