Tuesday morning:
Nyaa! Kouki-chan... Nyaa!
He opened one eye. “G’morning, Yama.”
“Did you notice? Did you?” Yama asked, her eyes shining brightly. Kouki opened the other eye.
“Notice what?” She straddled him; nothing new. “You are in your school uniform... the only thing different is the cat-eared headband—” He stopped. Something had moved behind her.
“YAMA, YOU HAVE A TAIL!”
Yama held one of her hands like a cat paw and said, “Nyaa!” wagging her tail from side to side.
“Yama, you did this for me? It’s cute.”
“But it’s not practical at all!” Yama pouted her lips as she kept pulling down her skirt whenever the nervous movement of her tail lifted it. “Either Yama has to open a hole for the tail on Yama’s panties or not wear them.” She leaned forward, putting both hands on his chest and her face close to him.
A couple of gasps came from the door, where Mirai and Yuki stood with their eyes wide open.
“YAMA! You aren’t wearing any panties!” Mirai shouted.
“She has a tail!” Yuki pointed at it.
Yama jumped from the bed with her face red, holding her skirt and tail flat with both hands, and darted out of the room.
Both girls scowled at Kouki. Yuki tapped her foot on the floor with both arms crossed over her chest.
“Would you care to explain?” Mirai asked.
“It’s my fault, not hers!” Kouki replied. “I asked Yama if she could have a tail like in anime; it was an idle question not meant to be taken seriously.”
“That’s what she was doing at night locked in the bathroom, practicing her tail thing; how naughty of me to think otherwise!” Mirai commented.
“Eh?” Yuki looked at her with a blank look on her face.
“Never mind, Yuki, let’s leave Kouki to his fetish fantasy,” Mirai said, pulling Yuki after her.
“It wasn’t my fantasy!” Kouki yelled at them. But she certainly looked cute.
The school day was uneventful as well as their club meeting.
Later that evening, when they were at the house, Kouki paced from side to side of the great room. Mirai watched him from the sofa.
“Don’t you think we should have accompanied Yama to her house?” he asked.
“Yuki is with her, and they won’t take long. Come, sit, or you will wear down the floorboards.”
He stopped his pacing and sat next to her.
“Besides, we haven’t had time to be alone,” Mirai added with a mischievous smile.
“In that case, let’s take advantage of the situation.”
“And what do you intend to do about it?” Mirai stared into Kouki’s eyes.
“I could begin by holding your hand...” He did so. “I could get closer to you.” He slid on the sofa until their hips touched. “I could kiss your lips—” He couldn’t do it. The doorbell rang at that moment.
“What?” Mirai exclaimed as she looked in the direction of the door. Her face showed the annoyance that she felt. “We got interrupted again!” She grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him. They were like that for two minutes, ignoring the insistent doorbell ringing.
“Go and see who it is!” Mirai ordered.
Kouki got up and said in a submissive voice, “Yes, my mistress!” He was smiling, of course.
Kouki looked through the peephole, and afterward, he opened the door.
“Eiji, what happened? Oh! Hello Mitsuki-chan, Hoshiko-san.”
“Your mobile is off! I have been trying to call you for hours. I need to get in contact with Mirai,” Eiji said rapidly.
He showed them in and closed the door.
“It’s urgent,” Eiji continued. “My father called me and—” He stopped after seeing Mirai standing before him. “Sorry. I didn’t know that we would interrupt your date night.”
Mirai’s face turned red. Kouki invited them to sit as he sat on the sofa’s armrest next to Mirai.
“Eiji-kun, please calm down and explain everything,” Mirai urged.
“I don’t know what you can do, but my father insisted we come here and ask for your help.”
“Did he say anything else?” Mirai asked Eiji cautiously.
“That you must keep us here and protect Hoshiko-san!” Mitsuki replied instead of her brother.
“Hoshiko?” Kouki and Mirai asked at the same time.
“Please help! I’m afraid.” Hoshiko’s eyes filled with tears. She buried her face in her hands and sobbed.
“Kouki, get her water!” Mirai commanded.
He got up, but the front door opened before reaching the kitchen.
Yama dropped her packages, jumped to Kouki’s neck, and kissed him on the lips. “Yama knows where Yama wants you to take Yama on our date!” she said afterward.
With Yama still clinging to Kouki, Yuki kissed Kouki on his lips. She noticed Kouki’s eyes repeatedly darting to the side. She looked in the direction that his eyes pointed towards.
Eiji and Mitsuki, openmouthed, had each a hand raised as if they were frozen in place greeting. Hoshiko, through wet eyes, looked at them without any expression on her face.
Yuki ran to her room without saying anything.
Yama greeted everyone with a bow and faced Kouki. “Grandpa sends his regards! Yama will go and change.”
Kouki scurried to the kitchen. Oh, brother! What are they going to think about us?
After Eiji slowly repeated what led them there, silence dominated the room until Mirai spoke:
“I must call my... superiors and tell them about the situation.”
“Mirai-san, do you know people in the secret service or the J.S.D.F.5?” Eiji asked wide-eyed.
“Something of that sort...” Mirai shifted her eyes to one side.
Yama and Yuki, now in their home clothes, stood quietly behind the sofa.
Mitsuki kept glancing at them. They both kissed him! She jumped in her seat when Kouki spoke.
“Shall I prepare tea?” he asked, getting up, but the doorbell rang before he could get an answer. “This place is becoming busier than Tokyo Station.” He opened the door. “Oh!”
Jane and Hotaru smiled at him.
He showed them in.
“Another party?” Jane asked when he saw everyone else in the room.
After the customary greetings, everyone looked at each other, not knowing what to say, until Kouki spoke.
“I imagine you all need to stay here tonight,” Kouki said. “Hoshiko, Mitsuki, and Hotaru can sleep with Mirai, Yuki, and Yama in their room.
“There are extra futons in the storage room. It’s a shame we can’t use that room, it’s full of stuff up to the ceiling, and I don’t have my mother’s permission to use her bedroom. Eiji, you can bunk with me in my room.”
Mitsuki’s eyes darted to each of the girls. Their room? They live here with Kouki! They kiss and hold hands and go out on dates! They are not jealous of each other! KOUKI HAS A HAREM!
“Jane, you can have the sofa again if you stay,” Kouki said.
Jane pondered and said, “Perhaps, I will.” He sat next to Mitsuki. The rest accommodated themselves on the sofa, armchairs, or the floor.
Furtively Mitsuki glanced at Jane. At least Jane doesn’t seem interested in Kouki. Why am I so nervous sitting next to her? Do I like girls?
“I think I shall prepare dinner,” Kouki said when they fell silent again.
Mirai, Yuki, Yama, and Hotaru jumped from their seat simultaneously and ran to the kitchen.
“Is my cooking that bad?” Kouki asked without expecting a reply. He faced the impromptu guests. “I’ll get things ready for all of you.” He excused himself and headed upstairs, followed by Mitsuki’s puzzled stare.
He opened the door and beheld the orderly chaos of the storage room. Someday I have to do something about this room. He pulled several futons out of the closet and took them to the girls’ room.
After dinner, they sat around chatting in pairs or small groups. Now it looked like a party or get-together.
Kouki poured tea to Mitsuki. “Mitsuki-chan is your mother fine with you staying here?” he asked.
“My mother is in Tokyo with my brother,” she replied. Mirai looked at her quizzically and added, “My brother Akito requires special care. He’s in a hospice. Autism. This has drained my parent’s savings as well as their marriage.” She said the last part in a low voice casting her eyes downward.
“I’m sorry,” Mirai said.
Mitsuki nodded and gave her a faint smile.
Kouki got up to get more tea. Mirai followed him.
“Uncle Kage wasn’t pleased about Hoshiko staying here, but he finally agreed,” Mirai said in a low voice once they were in the kitchen. “He’s calling for an increase in security around the house and mentioned something that I don’t understand. He said that Dr. Fujiwara in Nevada has to be notified! Do you know him?”
“Why is he notifying my mother?” Kouki asked, baffled.
“Is your mother Dr. Fujiwara?”
Kouki nodded.
“Kouki, what does your mother do in Nevada?”
“My mom has doctorates in Exobiology, Linguistics, and Planetary Physics. She works for this company In L.A. called Earth Sciences, and sometimes she is at their lab in Nevada.”
“AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME THIS!” Mirai shouted at him, annoyed.
“Was it important? You never asked me about her!”
“What, lovers quarrel?” Jane asked from the door.
Mirai stomped out of the kitchen. Jane made a discrete retreat back to the others.
As Kouki followed her with his eyes, he scratched his head. I didn’t know my mom’s work was important to her.
Aiko sneezed.
“Dr. Fujiwara,” Col. Hillman called from the door.
“Hi Bill, come in.” Aiko invited the base’s chief of security into her office.
“Dr. Fujiwara, what do fifteen-year-old kids do after school in Japan? I’m asking because, when I was that age, I could barely get one girl to visit my house, and it was for studying, and let me tell you this, I was handsome, tall, and athletic.” He paused for a moment. “Your son now has seven girls sleeping at your house!”
“Seven girls!” Aiko exclaimed.
Col. Hillman opened a dossier that he brought with him.
“Mirai Morikawa, Yuki Nakamura, and Yama Iriomote,” he read. “Those are the original three girls staying in your house, right? Also, a British exchange student named Jane Higgins and Hotaru Midori, the petite long-haired beauty—” Hillman closed the folder. “During my service in Korea, I met this petite beauty, and I was so fascinated with her that—” He went silent, remembering something nice from his past.
“Bill, this is the first time I have seen you smile,” Aiko said as she watched the transformation that happened to his stern face.
Col. Hillman cleared his throat, and his face turned serious again.
“My parents were against me marrying her,” he confided with sadness. Aiko felt the pain in his voice.
He opened the folder again and continued reading the report, “Fourteen-year-old Mitsuki Sato and her brother Eiji—”
“Eiji!” Aiko interrupted. “He is Kouki’s friend from middle school!” Hillman made some notations on the report. He continued, “And fifteen-year-old Hoshiko Sekinetsu. She is the suspected E.T.!”
“Are you sure she is the visitor?” Aiko asked anxiously.
“Mr. Masato contacted me earlier. He supplied me with the visitor’s location in the town of Kawafutago and its suspected identity. It is hers. Eiji and Mitsuki lived with her until a few hours before they all moved to your house.”
“Aren’t they only visiting?”
“They were carrying backpacks and luggage.”
“Bill, do you know what her name means?”
Col. Hillman shook his head.
“Her full name means Red-hot Star, and my son’s full name is Red Star Light.”
“You don’t see it as a coincidence?”
“No,” Aiko replied.
“Security has been doubled. Aiko, what else do you want me to do?”
“Bill, first, I need to contact Nana and tell her not to go to the house. And before we do anything else, there is something that I must tell you about Kouki’s girls.”
That night, at Kouki’s house:
Something had woken him. He listened... it was quiet, except for Eiji’s light snoring. He checked the time: It was two thirteen. Did someone call me in my sleep? I feel uneasy, and I can’t remember any dream.
He got up. Milk will calm me down.
He tiptoed down the stairs trying not to make any sound. When he reached the bottom, he froze.
With a purplish glow shining from her eyes, Hoshiko stood like a statue in the center of the great room. In front of her, Jane, in a trance-like manner, emitted a blue glow from his eyes.
Kouki frowned; he didn’t like what he saw. Well, he did, but... Her underwear and breasts were visible through the sheer white nightgown. Is Jane hypnotizing Hoshiko to seduce her?
Kouki grabbed the blanket from the sofa and covered the girl.
Jane snapped out of the trance, and his eyes reverted to normal. He dropped to one knee and spoke some words to Hoshiko in a foreign language.
Kouki took a step backward.
Hoshiko replied in the same language and offered her hand to Jane, so he could stand. At the same time, they both turned their heads and looked at Kouki. Kouki jumped, startled, having been caught staring at them.
“I found the captain’s daughter!” Jane simply said.
