The Infinite Wisdom of Jin Shin

Though we have not come close to exhausting the possibilities of the infinite Art of Jin Shin, we have come to the end of this book—which, like Jin Shin itself, may appear deceptively simple while offering a wealth of possibilities.

By now you have surely experimented with some of the holds and flows, and maybe you have even already established a routine or banished a cold. When in doubt about how to navigate through the information or which direction to explore, remember that Jin Shin taps into our innate wisdom—and that, with a little encouragement, stuck energy will find a way to move. There is no need to commit the information in this book to memory, as all that you learned is accessible to you. Some of this knowledge even predates your passage into conscious awareness.

When in doubt, simply hold your fingers in succession and use the breath to get the energy flowing. As you grow comfortable, explore the other flows. There are no “shoulds,” “have tos,” or “trying tos” in Jin Shin, as our teachers frequently remind us. Be in the moment while giving yourself this gift of self-care. Enjoy the journey.

For those of you interested in sharing the practice with friends and family, feel free to use any of the flows that you feel may be helpful. There is no way to harm yourself or others in using the Art of Jin Shin. When working on others, keep it short—practicing for anywhere between three and twenty minutes, and for no more than an hour. Enjoy the process, listening and feeling for energy to move.

Make sure you are breathing as well, giving yourself free access to source energy and allowing yourself to be the jumper cable.

You can also extend the practice to working with a beloved pet. If you are interested, seek out the book Jin Shin Jyutsu for Your Animal Companion by Adele Leas.
