THE LIFE OF JOHN MILTON by Richard Garnett

Richard Garnett (1835–1906) was a scholar, biographer and poet, and he was the son of an author and assistant keeper of books in the British Museum.  Garnett’s most important works include numerous translations from Greek and other languages and this biography on John Milton, which was first published in 1890.  He also discovered and edited some unpublished poems by Shelley in 1898.
