Make the Block
1. Sew together pieces A. The completed unit will measure 8½˝ × 10½˝. figure a
2. Cut piece B in half diagonally from corner to corner. figure b
3. Position the long edge of a triangle piece B 1½˝ down from the top right corner of unit A. Sew together.
4. Position the long edge of the other triangle piece B piece 1½˝ up from the bottom left corner of unit A. Sew together. figure c
5. Trim away the excess fabric to create a block 5½˝ × 8½˝. figure d
NOTE
If desired, cut a piece of regular or freezer paper 5½˝ × 8½˝ to use as a guide for cutting the finished block.
