Make the Block
1. Sew pieces B to the left and right sides of a piece A.
2. Sew pieces C to the top and bottom of unit AB.
3. Sew pieces D to the left and right sides of unit ABC. figure a
4. Repeat Steps 1–3 to make a second unit ABCD.
5. Sew pieces F to the left and right sides of a piece E.
6. Repeat Step 5 to make a total of 4 units EF. figure b
7. Sew units EF to the top and bottom of each unit ABCD to make 2 square units 5½˝ × 5½˝. figure c
Finish the Block
1. Sew together the units ABCDEF, sewing piece G between them.
2. Sew pieces H to the top and bottom. figure d
