––––––––
Over a period of eight months, Hunter and Tiara Chase visited ten countries in total.
While abroad, Tiara turned thirty-three on February 15th. Hunter had a surprise birthday party for her in Trinidad and Tobago. He secretly flew in his dad and her mom to celebrate her special day. As if planned, Ronald Chase showed up with a plus-one, his new girlfriend, Penelope Wong, a well-spoken, fifty-something-year-old dark-haired woman of Jamaican descent.
Also, Rachele Freeman arrived in company of her new flame, a sixty-eight-year-old retired Navy SEAL Colonel George Dickson.
Thankfully, everyone got along, in particular, Hunter and George became buddies super-fast but they included Ronald Chase in some of their chats while Penelope and Rachele had a great time with the birthday girl. According to Tiara, her 33rd gig was the best birthday present she had ever received.
Over the next several months, Hunter and Tiara amassed memories they intended to share with their family and friends.
Rachele Freeman who had dipped her feet in the dating pool just before her daughter’s wedding, fell head over heels in love George Dickson. The handsome widower with two married grown sons and four grandchildren already met Tiara and Hunter in Trinidad and Tobago.
After dating for six months, the older couple went on a cruise together for a month. While on their vacation, George proposed.
Meanwhile, Hunter and Tiara were in Borneo Island in Asia having the best time of their life.
Excited, but a tad cautious, Rachele called Tiara and Hunter over the phone to share the surprise news.
Extremely happy for the older couple, Tiara gave her mom her blessing and Hunter told Rachele to follow her heart. With tears pouring down her face, Rachele facetimed with Tiara and Hunter and asked them to watch her accept George’s wedding proposal.
Sobbing at the other end of the phone, Tiara nestled her head on her husband’s chest while Hunter folded his arms around his wife.
George went on one knee to ask the important question of all time.
“Rachele Freeman, I love you. Let me love you today, tomorrow and every day of our lives. Will you marry me?”
“Yes! Yes, George!”
Hunter and Tiara Chase clapped, watching as George slipped the glittering engagement ring on Rachele’s fingers before rising to circle her body with his hands.
“Congratulations, Mom!” Tiara chanted, wiping tears from her eyes.
“Congratulations, Mom!” Hunter cheered. “We wish you the best!”
“Hunter?” Rachele gushed, sobbing louder. “Did you just call me, Mom?”
“Mom,” Hunter confirmed with a definite nod.
“Thank you!”
Tiara stared at her husband. “That’s so awesome and lovely of you, bae.”
“Your mom’s amazing! Now we get to share her.”
“Oh sure.”
When George leaned in to kiss Rachele, Hunter ended the call, and hunted down Tiara’s lips with his own.
“I love you, Tiara Chase.”
“I love you much more, Hunter.”
Exactly eight months and ten days later, Hunter and Tiara Chase returned to Oakland California to the delight of their family and close friends.
With her supportive husband by her side and her mom and father-in-law’s help, Tiara moved all her belongings into her husband’s home along Wildwood Avenue within twenty-four hours. Her childhood doll, Rosa made the big move, taking its pride of place on her dresser. At last, Hunter was happy to meet his wife’s favourite toy.
The next day, supported by his wife and their immediate family members, Hunter got baptized in Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church.
While Hunter returned home to Oakland with a gorgeous tan from their many travels, Tiara nursed episodes of nausea a week later and spent several days in bed. Her head ached and she felt sick all the time, especially in the mornings.
The following day, Tiara got confirmation she was pregnant. The news got the couple and their families excited and grateful to God.
Attentive and caring at all times, Hunter wiped his wife’s face with wet towels, held her hands, fed her soup and took great care of her. Sometimes, she declined having sex for over a week. Hunter teased her but he was patient and kind. He even whispered dirty talks in her ears on many occasions which got her giggling in between bouts of nausea.
With the feeling of nausea, a thing of the past, Hunter and Tiara struggled to settle into a routine.
Just as he promised however, Hunter invited Rachele over to teach him how to cook Tiara’s favourite meals. He cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner five out of seven days in the week while Tiara’s mom cooked once a week for the couple. Claiming a bigger role in his son’s life, Ronald Chase took it upon himself to cook for the couple once weekly.
At first, Hunter struggled to cope with cooking a variety of food. With an intention to make her husband’s life less stressful, Tiara sat beside him, teasing him about his toned butt, stunning eyes, and muscular build while he cooked. She complimented him on how delicious his food tasted every time, and insisted they fed each other at meal times. Hunter slowly found out he enjoyed cooking more than he had expected.
Throughout her pregnancy, Tiara got pampered by Hunter, who massaged her waist and legs and carried her to the bathroom whenever she was too tired to get up in the middle of the night.
On June 18th, eighteen months after their wedding, Tiara and Hunter announced the birth of their cute son, Callum Andrew Chase who weighed 8.5lbs.
The new parents wrapped their hands around each other in the private ward and gave thanks to God for the safe delivery of their son.
Hunter Chase was so overcome with many emotions as he cuddled his first child, tears spurted out of his eyes.
Rachele hugged her son-in-law. “Congratulations, Hunter! Isn’t he gorgeous? He looks like your double.”
Tiara smiled. “Mom, open your eyes. Callum’s got my full lips and stubby fingers.”
Hunter and Ronald laughed.
“Who says your fingers are stubby?” Hunter took his wife’s hand and kissed her fingers one after the other. “You’ve got the sexiest fingers in the world.”
“Bae, thank you. I need to sleep.”
“After we take a quick selfie. Ronald, join in the photo,” Rachele insisted. “I’m so proud of you, Tiara.”
“Thank you, Mom. I was so exhausted at one point.”
“You’re a star, babe.” Hunter moved his lips along his wife’s own after he handed Callum to his dad.
Rachele Freeman and George Dickson got married after Callum Chase’s first birthday. The newlyweds took an active role in helping Hunter and Tiara with babysitting duties alongside Ronald Chase and his girlfriend, Penelope Whitehead. It just so happened Penelope lived fifteen minutes away in Oakland.
Exactly three years after Hunter and Tiara Chase got married, Hunter received a letter from the United States Military Service converting his dishonourable discharge from service to a commendation and an honourable resignation. Consequently, he was invited to a private ceremony at the California National Guard office in Sacramento. A week later, Hunter Chase–flanked by Tiara and observed by his close family members–was presented with a hero’s medal for his sixteen years of meritorious service to the country.
Five years on, Hunter and Tiara Chase had a second son through an emergency caesarean section. Thrilled for their second wonderful miracle, they christened their newborn, Peter Martin Chase. Peter weighed 9lbs at birth and the entire family sang out with joy.
Callum gave everyone a hard time, designating himself the sole caregiver for his baby brother. Callum insisted on watching Peter breastfeed and help out with giving the infant a bath. Often standing beside Tiara, or whoever was bathing his younger brother, Callum often held out the towelling robe, supplied the diapers and handed over the moisturizing lotion and baby oil.
Ronald Chase and Rachele Freeman helped with babysitting both kids regularly, so that Hunter and Tiara could get some alone time to deepen their relationship.
One day, before their second son turned three, Tiara whispered her secret wish to her husband.
“I wish I could give you a baby girl.”
“Babe, I’m happy to fill our home with six boys!” Hunter brushed his lips past hers and linked his arms around her hips, drawing her closer to his thighs.
“Don’t say that, bae,” she gasped. “No more boys. Shannon wished for us to have three kids. Don’t get me wrong. I’m truly grateful to God for blessing us with two amazing and energetic boys. I would also love to have a girl, Lord.”
Chuckling, Hunter winked. “May Shannon’s soul rest in peace, Amen. Ti, girls come with drama.”
Smiling, she smacked his chest.
“We’ve got to agree on this, bae. Girls are so adorable. You don’t know what you’re missing.”
Lifting his brows, Hunter nodded.
“I’ve got to worry about stopping guys–”
“Exactly! You’re the best dad with the perfect training to protect our daughter. Don’t you think so?”
“Um-hm. When you put it like that, it makes perfect sense. I can’t say I’ looking forward to it. I’ll probably over-indulge her.”
“Imagine her beautiful chubby smile, piggy tails, pink ribbons, cute dresses.”
“Yeah! Do you think she’ll be a diva?”
“Am I a diva?”
After staring at each other briefly, they cracked up.
Shutting her eyes for a moment, Tiara said out loud.
“Lord God, you said, ask anything in my name and you will do it so your father will be glorified in you. My husband and I are asking you for a baby girl in Jesus name.”
“Amen and Amen!” they both chanted.
Hunter kissed her lips, muttering in her ear. “You’re so persuasive, Tiara Chase.”
A month after Callum turned seven and Peter was nearly three-and-a-half-years-old, on their flight back to the USA after a week-long vacation in Sintra, Portugal, Tiara peed on a pregnancy test kit. For an anxious two minutes, she and Hunter waited in the tiny on-board bathroom to get the result.
When two pink stripes appeared, they both wept.
“I told you, I’d been feeling nauseous, bae.”
“Wow!” Hunter sounded dazed. “We’re going to have another baby?”
“I’m pregnant!” Tiara cheered. “Lord, I’m so happy! Thank you. I’m sure God has answered my prayers for a baby girl.”
“Babe? What if we have a boy?”
“Speak into existence what we want, Hunter Chase.”
“Thank you, Lord. I’m humbled and incredibly thankful. Babe, a baby girl would be another special gift to us.”
“Amen. I know, right?”
“Callum and Peter would be thrilled to have a sister. And if not, we’ll still be immensely grateful.”
Hunter hugged his wife and caressed her lips.
“I’ve loved you from the moment I saw you. I’ll never stop loving you, Mrs. Tiara Chase because I need you to feel complete and I’ll always need you.”
“From the moment I saw you, Hunter Chase, I couldn’t think of anyone else or anything else. You took away my will to be with any other guy. I’m forever in love with you, my soulmate and father of our blessed children.”
