For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. —EPHESIANS 2:8-10
I celebrate the miracles, signs, and wonders that a life of breakthrough faith produces—otherwise, I would not have written this book. My prayer over this project is that the body of Christ would begin to walk out a lifestyle of consistent supernatural power, not just occasional victory. But to what end? I want to see Jesus Christ high and lifted up so that all would know He is the one true God. He is the only way to eternal salvation. And He is our invitation to a life of purpose and significance here on earth.
Jesus is alive.
He is not a concept.
He is not one among many gods.
Jesus is God.
There is no other name under Heaven by which man can be saved from sin.
Jesus is the Savior.
By nature, mankind is sinful.
Our natural bent is toward sin and rebellion.
We could not save ourselves from this drive toward evil tendencies.
We were incapable of becoming right with God.
This is why God Himself came to the earth as Jesus Christ.
He lived the life that you and I could never live—one of absolute perfection.
He died the death that you and I deserved to die—and even if we had died this same death, our humanness would have prevented our sacrifice from doing anything about the sin problem.
Jesus’ blood was perfect and holy and sinless—it purchased forgiveness for your sin and my sin. For the sins of the entire world. All of the wrong. All of the rebellion. All of the pride. All of the anger. All of the lust. All of the hatred. Every thought, action, and attitude in rebellion toward God was taken care of at the cross.
We simply need to receive this free gift that God provided through Jesus. This is how we receive breakthrough faith! If you have already made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, I have good news for you: you already have breakthrough faith living inside of you. However, if you have never invited Jesus to come into your heart, forgive your sins, give you a fresh start, and fill you with the Holy Spirit to live out the supernatural lifestyle we just explored, I want to give you the opportunity right here, right now. It is so simple. You can just pray with me:
Jesus, thank You for living a perfect life. I couldn’t do it.
Thank You, Jesus, for dying the perfect death, offering complete forgiveness for my sins.
Father, I confess that my sin, my wrong, my rebellion—it all deserves death, for the Bible says that the soul that sins shall die.
This is what causes me to feel unworthy before You, the Holy God. But I don’t need to stay this way. You made it possible for me to stand righteous before You!
Thank You, Jesus, for taking my place and dying the death that I deserved. You took upon yourself all of my sin—past, present, and future.
I am forgiven. I am clean. I am shameless. I am guilt-free. Thank You, Jesus.
And finally, thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit. You forgave my sin so that I could spend eternity in Heaven with You, but also so that I could be filled with Your Presence and power here on earth. I want to see Your Kingdom bring freedom, healing, and breakthrough so that all would know that Jesus Christ is alive!
If you prayed this simple prayer, I believe the Holy Spirit performed an utterly supernatural work in your heart. Jesus Christ saved you from your sin, made you a child of God, and filled you with the Holy Spirit. You are now what they call “born again.” You are a Christian. You have a room reserved in Heaven and are empowered with breakthrough faith for your mission on earth. I would love to hear from you. My ministry information is listed in the back of this book. I want to do what I can to help you transition beyond a one-time prayer and start living out this supernatural Christian life. It is your inheritance!
Above all, I pray that every breakthrough you experience fuels your passion and pursuit for this Jesus, to know Him more, to worship Him more deeply, and to boldly declare His glorious Gospel to the nations, starting with your own sphere of influence.
