ABLE AND WILLING

Appropriating faith is not believing that God can, but that God will.F.F. BOSWORTH26

The generation that marries both the truths of God’s ability and His willingness will walk in supernatural breakthrough as their norm, not as the exception. The expression of “normal Christianity” will once again be followed by signs, wonders, miracles, and radical supernatural demonstrations of the Kingdom of God because a people decided to believe that the God who is able is also willing. The following section is intentionally divided up to cover first the ability of God and then conclude by exploring His willingness. One revelation without the other will not suffice, and, unfortunately, will lead us into short-circuited faith.

There are entire “faith” groups out there who present a God whose willingness is unlimited. He is willing to do everything from heal your body to giving you a shiny new Bentley, to providing you with a wardrobe of Armani suits. Nice things are not the issue here; the problem is when stuff becomes the focus of our faith and God’s willingness is preached without boundaries.

This is why I am first presenting the section on the ability of God. God’s ability, as revealed throughout Scripture, provides boundaries for what we are licensed to believe Him for. Boundaries in God’s Kingdom are not restrictive; rather, they are protective. God is not out to limit us in how we exercise our faith. If anything, God wants to upgrade our understanding of what He is able to do, and believe Him for the “greater works” that Jesus spoke of in John 14:12. The key is found in believing for the things that lie within Heaven’s specified perimeters.

The generation that marries both the truths of God’s ability and His willingness will walk in supernatural breakthrough as their norm, not as the exception.

When we believe that the God who is able to speak galaxies into existence is the same God who is also willing to perform the impossible on our behalf, this faith produces limitless results. So here is my question: Are you ready to experience an upgraded Christian life? If your answer is yes, then let’s dive in and explore God’s ability, God’s willingness, and the incredible power that is released when we put these two revelations together.
