Acknowledgments
It’s been said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well the same could be said of bringing a book to publication. I am so thankful to my team and my friends and family who have helped me through the process of completing this book. The first shout of gratitude goes out to my husband, George, who is by my side always. He reads every one of my books, and he is always there for me along the way. He encourages me and keeps me balanced emotionally through the process.
A thank-you goes out to those in law enforcement who tirelessly answer any procedural questions I have. To a Florida homicide detective, who shall remain nameless so as not to upset the brass, for his valuable insights into drinking-and-driving offenses and punishment, as well as crime scene processing. Also, I thank Ed Adach of Toronto Police Forensics for answering my many e-mails. Thank you to Yvonne Bradley, a former coroner, for being there for me again and responding so quickly to questions I had about time of death, etcetera. Thank you to former detective Samantha Harper for always being just one direct message away.
Congratulations to Angela Jett in winning a character naming and becoming Ava Jett in this book. I hope you enjoyed seeing your name in print and were happy with the character you became.
And last, but not least, thank you to my editing team for their contribution to this project.
