Epilogue

Alex stared down at Jessica, admiring the way she looked in the sheer white nightgown he had bought for her. The style suited her perfectly. Sweet in its design, because that’s what she truly was. But the charm of the nightie didn’t stop there. The gown was naughty in its transparency, and this was perfect because she was a bad girl too. He sucked in his breath as he thought that. He had so many different ways that he wanted to play with her. Years and years of games in store for them.

He watched her breathe slowly, gently.

They had spent the early part of the night fucking, and then he’d left to go back to the paper, overseeing the printing as he always did on Thursday nights. It was early in the morning now. Too early to force her out of bed. But he simply couldn’t wait.

For a moment, he thought of all the different ways that he might wake her. He could lift the nightgown, bend down and lick in long, slow lines up the insides of her slender legs. She would stir when his tongue finally made contact with her clit. Or he could kiss the back of her neck, lift her heavy black hair and press his lips to that most treasured spot at the nape. Breathe in, smelling the scent that was truly her. But finally he chose a way that was more perfect than any other.

Crinkling the newly printed paper in his hand, he fanned her face, creating a soft breeze that waved over her until she rolled over and stared up at him. While she watched with her big, dark blue eyes, he opened the newspaper to show the newly revised masthead. Then he carefully underlined the words that he wanted her to read.

Jessica’s eyes followed where Alex pointed.

Alexander Harris – Editor-in-Chief

Avalon Granger – Managing Editor

Josh Charles – Advertising Executive

Then there it was. The reward for all of her hard work in simple black letters on a white background.

Jessica Taylor – Writer at Large

Jessica looked up at Alex, a smile dancing in her mesmerising blue eyes, her dangerous lips parted to speak. But instead, she opened her arms wide and drew him in close, so close that she could feel his heart beating against hers.

Alex bent his head against her, and she felt his long hair tickling her skin, felt his breath on the back of her neck. His touch sent a shiver through her, and he held her even tighter in his embrace. And suddenly, Jessica smiled. She knew exactly how to tell him what the masthead meant to her.

She could tell him everything she needed to with her body alone, and he would know precisely how to read between the lines.
