M.Q. Barber obeys Henry, Alice, and Jay whenever she can in the hope of coaxing more stories out of them. So far, they’ve always delivered. If she went more than a day without jotting down a book idea, she’d spend the night scouring WebMD or the Mayo Clinic online for the source of such a terrifying condition.
Luckily, M.Q. has an understanding family and friends who don’t balk at sharing her with a multitude of fictional characters. Her puppy, being somewhat less understanding, makes her displeasure known by sprawling across the keyboard. M.Q. is certain the dog would share her fascination if only she learned to read. Progress on that project stalled when the puppy chewed through the reading material.
Jay is a much better behaved puppy—but, to be fair, Henry and Alice are much more consistent masters.
