Dear Reader,
I love writing “armchair travel” stories. The research is so fun! And while it’s not quite the same as being there (my bucket list is very long), it sure is a lot cheaper on the pocketbook.
Don’t get me wrong. I’d rather do the actual traveling. But another side to traveling in my books and not in real life is the ability to face some of my fears without actually, you know, having to face them. In Summer Escape with the Tycoon, I drew on my own experience with zip-lining as I’m scared of heights, but I did it anyway...and loved it! On the other hand, I also hold Molly’s fear of being flipped over in a kayak, and I addressed that without having to actually face it myself. I know—chicken. Maybe someday.
Either way, it all ends up with Molly and Eric facing both physical and emotional fears in this book, and I hope you enjoy their sense of adventure as much as I do!
Best wishes,
Donna
