CARE

Anyone can have green fingers – even those who consider themselves notorious plant serial killers. All that’s needed is interest, a little knowledge and some experience. So how can you get a plant to thrive under your care? The first thing is to understand the three basic needs of plants: light, water and nutrients.

LIGHT

Plants make their own building materials by using light in a process called photosynthesis, so the more you optimize the lighting conditions, the more energy the plants receive – and the more they will flourish.

WATER

Water is essential for life, both for plants and for people – this combination of hydrogen and oxygen is responsible for all life on earth. Without water, plants dry up, while too much water drowns them. Mastering watering is therefore essential to get plants to thrive.

NUTRIENTS

Just like us humans, plants need a supply of nutrients in order to stay healthy. This is why we give plants plant food – or fertilizer, as it’s often called. Plant food stimulates growth and so makes plants healthier and more robust while boosting flowering.
