Administration on Aging Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program

Advocates nationally for residents of nursing
homes, board and care homes, assisted-living
facilities, and similar adult care facilities. They
work to resolve problems of individual residents
and to bring about changes at the local, state, and
national levels that will improve residents’ care
and quality of life.

Administration on Aging Pension Counseling and Information Program

Assists older Americans in accessing information about their retirement benefits and helps them to negotiate with former employers or pension plans for due compensation. The program covers twenty-nine states.

Alliance on Aging

Check your local listings. Most communities have an Alliance on Aging office.

The Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association has chapters throughout the country. It operates referral services, a 24/7 hotline, online communities, newsletters, and links to current research. You can access their five-thousand-volume library online.
