INGREDIENTS

Butter, as needed
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
3 cups cornflakes
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1. Grease a 9" × 13" pan with butter and set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine corn syrup and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring frequently. Let boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Remove from heat and add peanut butter; stir until melted. Add cornflakes and stir gently, then spread into prepared pan. Press down with the back of a greased spoon to form an even surface.
4. Add the chocolate chips to the top of a double boiler over simmering water and heat until melted smooth and warm, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Pour over cereal mixture and spread; let cool. Cut into bars.
