Anne Karpf is a writer, sociologist, and awardwinning journalist. For seven years she was radio critic of the Guardian, where she now writes a weekly column. Her last book, The War After: Living with the Holocaust, a memoir of growing up the child of Jewish Holocaust survivors, was published to acclaim in 1996. She broadcasts on radio and television, and teaches at London Metropolitan University.
