Meet Celine

A classic granny square is the first thing I made when I learned how to crochet, and I have not stopped since. This book is an exploration of color, with countless hours, dozens of skeins of yarn, and a lot of imagination going into the bright and fun squares I have created.

For those who find it difficult to stick to one project at a time (raises hand), a granny square is just the perfect amount of crochet for one sitting, and reaching the end of a pattern fills me with a sense of accomplishment, as granny squares are like mini projects within themselves—that’s what I love about them.

Within the book, you’ll find a variety of squares—from your classic staples to over-the-top, unconventional stretches of the imagination. Some are designed to stand alone, others to be combined with each other, and with varying skill levels, color combinations, and stitch types, there’s a square to suit everyone’s taste.

By making a block at a time you can gradually build up enough blocks to make a unique project of your own—turn to this page for some creative inspiration for things to make with your squares.

Crochet is a form of therapy for me. It’s a fantastic way for me to destress and a way to express my creativity. Crocheting gives me focus and makes me happy. Oh, and the yarn . . . squishy goodness in all the colors of the rainbow.

Crafting should be an enjoyable experience and I hope the patterns in this book inspire you to play with color to create something that brings you joy.
