Why would you waste the hot water used to cook pasta? By pouring it over vegetables (or even shrimp) in a colander, you can cook right in the sink without much effort at all! But a couple of warnings: You’ll need a large, 5-quart colander. And you’ll need to make sure you don’t finely chop or mince anything that could fall through the colander’s holes. The Thai noodle recipe uses gluten-free rice noodles. Feel free to substitute gluten-free ziti or linguine in the first two recipes as well. However, be sure to use dried gluten-free noodles that must be cooked on the stove (not just softened in a bowl); read the package instructions before buying.
