Cynthia worked in travel field for more than 20 years, eventually helming her own agency. She landed her dream job at Rick Steves’ Europe, where she leads My Way Tours and helps with guidebook research. She spends her winters skiing the slopes in Canada’s Sun Peaks Resort.
As a high-school Spanish teacher in San Diego, Trish frequently took her students on summer trips to Europe, sharing her passion for language, history, culture, and cuisine. She later earned a degree in French and learned Italian, and she now uses her language and teaching skills—along with her love of travel—as a Rick Steves’ Europe tour guide and guidebook researcher, and as a travel blogger at thetravelphile.com. When not traveling, she binge-watches favorite shows and plays pétanque with her partner Rick in their hometown of Edmonds, Washington.
Born in Denver and raised in central Ohio, Cameron settled in Seattle in 2000. Ever since, he has spent three months each year in Europe, contributing to guidebooks, tours, radio and television shows, and other media for Rick Steves’ Europe, where he serves as content manager. Cameron married his high school sweetheart (and favorite travel partner), Shawna, and enjoys taking pictures, trying new restaurants, and planning his next trip.
Amanda Zurita caught the travel bug early—she’s been flying since before she could walk. For the last seven years she’s worked in Europe as a researcher and tour guide for Rick Steves’ Europe, exploring the rest of the world in the off-season. When she’s not castle-hopping on the Rhine, walking the walls in Rothenburg, or eating Grüne Sosse in Frankfurt, she lives in Seattle with her beloved Labrador, Hadrian.
Gene has co-authored a dozen Rick Steves books, specializing in writing walks and tours of Europe’s cities, museums, and cultural sights. He also contributes to Rick’s public television series, produces tours for Rick Steves Audio Europe, and is a regular guest on Rick’s public radio show. Outside of the travel world, Gene has co-authored The Seattle Joke Book. As a composer, Gene has written a full-length opera called Matter, a violin sonata, and dozens of songs. He lives near Seattle with his daughter, enjoys giving presentations on art and history, and roots for the Mariners in good times and bad.
