It is yet another hot, sunny day. There is a group of old German tourists walking along the beach of Bikini Island. A tour guide is explaining to them about the bomb tests and its aftermath for the islanders.
A man with glasses from the group sits down on the trunk of a tree near the beach. He looks at the beach for a long time. He takes a cigar from his pocket with his shaky hands. Another old man from the group sits right beside him on the sand. The man with glasses starts to smoke his cigar and says to the man who just sat down on the sand, “You know, I once had a friend. He told me that he was from this island. And he liked his cigar so much, he carried and smoked the cigar just about everywhere. What a guy. I don’t know what he is up to now . . .”
“Oh, really? Hm . . . Oh, well. It is getting too hot, now. We better catch up with those guys.”
The man with glasses sits smoking his cigar, just looking at the ocean.
“Dinnertime!”
There is a woman on a beach who is calling her son. On the beach, there are many boys playing ball. He looks at his mom.
“Okay, Mom. I am coming now.”
He runs to his mom without looking back. The boys are complaining to him, “Hey! Come back!”
“We are not done yet!”
“We are winning, man!”
“Not again . . .”
“What the . . .”
“Again, his mom . . .”
“What is wrong with his mom?”
“Let’s get out of here.”
“He is not playing tomorrow on my team, got that?”
“Whatever . . .”
They all leave the beach and head back to their homes.
