Hot ’n’ Soft premiered and was first produced by Buddies in Bad Times Theatre as part of the Queer Culture Festival in 1991. The play was written, directed, and performed by Muriel Miguel, with set and costume design by Soni Moreno and stage management by Deborah Ratelle.
The play went on to tour across North America, performing at Theater Rhinoceros, San Francisco, in 1991; Out North Theater, Anchorage, in 1993; the Indian Summer Festival at the American Indian Community House, New York City, in 1994; the Women’s Studies Conference at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1996; the Out on the Edge Festival at the Theater Offensive, Boston; and at Teatro Berdache, Calgary, in 2001.
