KEVIN BAKER is the author of the New York–based City of Fire trilogy: Dreamland, Paradise Alley, and Strivers Row. He is also the author of the history America: The Story of Us and the coauthor of the graphic novel Luna Park. He writes frequently on history and politics for many publications, including the New York Times and Harper’s Magazine, where he is a contributing editor. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Ellen, and their cat, Maisie.
