In the previous chapters we looked at why 42 million women are struggling to make ends meet even though they are working hard as breadwinners and caregivers. Three major cultural and economic changes over the past 50 years—in the workforce, in our family structure, and in the necessity for higher education—have steadily pushed women to the brink.
Is this our vision of America—where one in three women struggle financially? We think it is not. We argue for a Woman’s Nation Reimagined, a nation with a modern social architecture designed to make individuals, businesses, and government stronger, more innovative, and better adapted to the realities of America’s working and caregiving women.
Take a look.
