I met Will and Steve almost two years go. I meet a lot of people on My Kitchen Rules but these guys stood out immediately – Steve for his passion and drive and Will for his warm and generous nature and his willingness to learn. Both have a love of the kitchen and food. That first time I tasted their food I picked them to go all the way in the competition. It wasn’t an easy journey for them but the boys exude a fighting spirit and love for cooking.
Their food is clever, modern and textured. They exhibit respect for ingredients and flavours. Both guys are cooking at a level far beyond the home cook, but they exhibit such warmth and generosity in their recipes that a home cook can easily achieve greatness with them.
I have got to know the pair over the last two years and am proud to have been their mentor, and I hope, now, a friend. It is with great pride and joy that I look at what they have achieved. Will and Steve are a testament to hard work and passion and I wish them every success in the future.
