- They were introduced in the 1800s and are the oldest of their kind. They are also the first breed to be domesticated.
- Arabs have one less lumbar bone, one less rib, and one less tail vertebrae.
- The black skin located beneath their coat protects them from the sun.
- They have played a prominent part in Islam. Religious groups consider them the most noble of all animals.
- On average, they stand between 14 and 15 hands and are tall enough for most Arabians in the desert.
- They are usually dish-faced with broad shoulders.
- They are made to wear accessories.
- They are ideal for training because they are attentive horses who can learn quickly.
