Alternative Name/s: Peruvian Horses

  1. They are best remembered for their natural four-beat gait called the paso llano.
  2. Most horses require artificial aids to perform their walk but they can do well on their own. For this reason, they are often seen as arrogant animals.
  3. Due to their unique trot, they are protected by a Peruvian government Decree.
  4. They stand between 14 and 15 hands, have deep chests, have dark skin, and have expressive eyes.
