MAKES ABOUT 3 CUPS
We know people buy jarred salsa and “fresh” salsa in refrigerated plastic tubs. But it’s soooo easy and so much better to mix up a fresh salsa at home. Use those oddly shaped multi-colored heirloom tomatoes from the farmers’ market. —DEREK
2 large heirloom tomatoes, diced small
½ small red onion, diced small and rinsed
1–2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and diced small
LEAVE IN THE SEEDS IF YOU LIKE IT SPICY
1 lime, juiced
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
½ teaspoon sea salt
Lightly toss everything together in a medium serving bowl. Sometimes if the tomatoes are too juicy, we’ll drain off some liquid.
