Our special chocolate is made over several days, the old-fashioned way: we slowly stone-grind our raw cacao beans at a low temperature. Our single, unique aromica variety of Ecuadorian cacao beans are never roasted, and all processes are kept below 114 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure maximum antioxidant retention and zero trans-fatty acid production. Sacred Chocolate™ has an antioxidant rating (ORAC score) three to four times higher than that of a cooked dark chocolate bar of comparable cacao content. Our ingredients are raw (unroasted) wherever possible and always certified organic and/or wild-crafted. Sacred Chocolate™ is also certified Vegan, Kosher, and Halal. Our cacao is sold above Fair Trade standards. We never use weak cacao “filler” beans to boost cacao percentage, and we completely avoid cane sugar in all our products.
