About the Contributor

Michael C. S. Wong is the founding president of CTRISKS, a credit-rating agency and risk-consulting firm based in the Greater China region, and an Associate Professor of Finance of City University of Hong Kong. He has advised more than 20 Asian banks on risk-process reengineering, risk-system development and risk-management strategies.

Dr. Wong is the Hong Kong regional director of Global Association of Risk Professionals and was a founding member of FRM Committee of the association in 1998–2002. He was granted a Teaching Excellence Award by the City University of Hong Kong and Doctoral Dissertation Award by the Chinese University of Hong Kong; and is included in the Who’s Who of Risk. Prior to his career in academia and consulting, he had seven-year experience in investing banking. Dr. Wong graduated from University of Cambridge, University of Essex, and Chinese University of Hong Kong.
