“Congrats!” JJ yelled, and I held him up close to Alessandra, so he could kiss the baby’s forehead. He was officially four months old today, and I couldn’t be happier in life than I was right now. I put JJ back down to run off and play with his toys as Sofia reached for Alexander Gael Velez. We named him with a mixture of both our names, but he looked exactly like me. I was ready to get her pregnant again, but she wanted to wait for when she finished school.
“He looks just like you, Gael,” Sofia said.
“I think I helped a little.” Alessandra pouted.
Joaquin bent down to hug her, then stood.
“When are you going to make another one?” Alessandra questioned.
Sofia and Joaquin looked at each other.
“We might have something brewing.”
“I knew it!” Alessandra excitedly clapped her hands.
“Story will be told later,” Joaquin said.
“How did your parents take it about the marriage?”
“They were fine with us eloping.”
“How was the delivery?”
“Stressful, and he didn’t help.” Alessandra pointed at me.
“She was crazy!” I waved my hand in the air.
“Sofia, you had to have seen him. This big, burly mafia guy, running around nervous.” Alessandra laughed, and I pursed my lips.
“Ahh, poor baby.” Alessandra giggled.
“I get what you mean, Joaquin,” I said.
“What?” Sofia and Alessandra spoke at the same time.
“Women hangin’ with Janice too long.”
They all burst into laughter, but I was serious. Alessandra showed me the text thread for the mommy mafia, and I was disturbed by some of the messages. I even called Carlo to ask if he was safe by living with her because she was nuts.
“Janice isn’t that bad,” Sofia replied.
“I told Carlo if he needs an alibi, to call me.”
Sofia chuckled, and Alessandra got up from the bed.
“We can go out to the patio and eat lunch,” she said.
Sofia handed Alexander to Joaquin, and I felt proud to see me and my best friend come to terms and be joined as real brothers and family.
“Maybe you two should create a daddy daycare cartel,” Alessandra joked.
“That’s enough American TV for you.” I pressed a kiss on her lips.
