WELCOME TO JOURNEY TO THE CROSS. You are invited to accompany Jesus in his sorrow and suffering as he journeys from Gethsemane to Golgotha. As you explore the eight prayer stations, imagine you are watching the scenes unfold. Experience the details as you read the Scripture texts. Then read the artist statements and study the artwork. Try to move beyond judgment questions of, Do I like this? or Is it good?, and instead ask, What catches my attention? What thoughts, emotions, or memories are stirred in me as I view this? What attracts? What repels? Why? Seek to look through and beyond the art to the truth it illuminates. What invitations do you discern? How will you respond?

In the booklet you’ll also find a section with reflection questions and prayer prompts for each station. Feel free to use whatever is helpful for you as you seek to enter the narrative. We hope you’ll continue to ponder and pray with these Scripture texts throughout the year.
