The following six chapters introduce you to a variety of fundamental characteristics of healthcare communication in both the broad professional and the narrower personal contexts. The broad issues provide you, as an individual manager, with a working framework that we will use as our shared understanding and vocabulary to describe the concepts.
This section also allows you to take a very detailed look at your own communication skills. Together we will explore your attitudes and skills in interpersonal, written, and oral communications and explore your use of new media.
These concepts require personal commitment and mastery for full achievement of communication objectives as a manager and for your organization.
