SEVENTEEN

THAT BREACH OF contract earned me a letter of praise from my NGO. That was the compromise, and I said nothing about how I had rejected corruption, and the authorities did not mention my behaviour that was irregular at best, according to their code of conduct. That letter, international quotas, and my diplomas led me here, to The Hague. I have been a P2 Analyst in the Prosecutor’s office for the last three years. I am at the International Criminal Court, I am thirty-one years old, and I believe in justice. One day, perhaps, I will put that asshole director who tried to steal five hundred doses of tritherapy in jail. Stealing people’s health should be on the list of crimes against humanity.
