¾ cup kale
½ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley
½ romaine lettuce
3 celery stalks, halved
1 apple, halved
½ lemon
⅓ cup slivered almonds
½ avocado, peeled and pitted
small handful of crushed ice, optional
1. Feed the kale through a juicer, followed by the parsley and lettuce. Finally, feed two of the celery stalks and the apple and lemon through the juicer.
2. Put the slivered almonds into a blender or food processor and process until finely ground.
3. Add the juice and avocado flesh to the almonds, and process until smooth. Add the crushed ice, if using, and blend again.
4. Pour the juice into a glass. Decorate with the remaining celery stalk and serve immediately.
