As a longtime sufferer of acne-prone oily skin, the thought of intentionally slathering oil on my face made me cringe. Finally, I worked up the guts to try it, and I’ve never looked back. It turns out that applying noncomedogenic oils to your face actually balances the oil level in your skin, which stops it from overproducing oil and instead leaves it even and clear. Different skin types require different oils, although all cleansing oils should contain castor oil, as it provides antiseptic qualities.
Combine the oils specified for your skin type in a small bottle and shake gently to blend.
To use, apply 1 teaspoon of blended oil to face and massage thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes. Use a warm washcloth to thoroughly wipe excess oil from your skin.
If your skin feels tight or dry after cleansing, pat a few drops of the cleansing oil on your face for added moisture.
