At-Home Microdermabrasion

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon distilled water

1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

5 drops lavender essential oil

Microdermabrasion is an incredible tool for reducing scarring, dark spots and hyper pigmentation, but it certainly isn’t cheap and isn’t always the safest. This recipe is about as close as it gets to a spa microdermabrasion using all natural ingredients! Microdermabrasion may have a sensitizing effect on the skin, so this treatment is best done in the evening.

Combine the ingredients in a bowl, and use your fingers to thoroughly stir until a paste is formed. Gently massage the paste onto your skin in small, circular motions for 5 minutes. Remove with a moist hot towel, using soft, swiping motions, careful to not do any additional scrubbing. Pat face with cool water.

You may experience redness for a couple of hours, so make sure not to aggravate your skin with any more facial treatments or makeup application. Be sure to wear sunscreen the next time you are exposed to sun.
