Moisturizing Recipes

It’s most important to moisturize the skin on our bodies—the skin is much thicker there than on the face, and it has far less naturally moisturizing oil glands, so it tends to dry out much more quickly. Be sure to use a body lotion or cream on a daily basis and a moisturizing scrub regularly!

Mango Body Butter

1 cup unrefined cocoa butter

1/2 cup unrefined virgin coconut oil

1/2 cup sweet almond oil

1 teaspoon mango extract

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

This recipe is an all-natural interpretation of a former store-bought favorite that I discovered contained some rather unsavory ingredients. This body butter is hydrating, smells super delicious and makes a wonderful gift!

Melt cocoa butter and coconut oil in a double boiler set over medium heat. Remove from heat, and stir in almond oil, mango extract and vanilla extract. Let chill in the fridge for 2 hours, or until the mixture begins to solidify. Remove from the fridge and whip with a hand mixer until a consistent whipped texture has been reached. Transfer to a resealable glass jar, and let cool thoroughly before using.
